CONSOLIDATOR |
|
Q. What are consolidator flights and why
are their airfares
so much cheaper than the other guys?
A. For most domestic and overseas
destinations, consolidator flights have the lowest cost airfares. The reason is
consolidator companies either (a) purchase, at wholesale, a block of airline seats in
advance, or (b) are offered a bunch of unsold seats from an affiliated airline for a very
low prices. They then add a modest markup, and sell these seats to the public for
much less than regular travel agencies can. Only courier flights are as cheap or cheaper
but they don't have near as many routes available.
Q. How can you take advantage of these
wholesale-like airfares?:
A. We offer a directory
guide which has the names and phone numbers for 500 consolidator companies. Called
"Key to the Airways", it is categorized into the following sections: (a.)
West coast USA., (b.) East coast USA, (c.) Middle USA states, (d.)
Europe, (e.) Asia (f.) Canada, Australia, NZ and the rest of the
world. This is a very useful compilation of listings, and is not available anywhere
else.
The directory is $12 (postpaid) and all orders receive an extra feature at no extra cost: complete listings and contacts for air courier flights .
More Details on Consolidator Flights, below. . . . .
| Consolidator flight airfares can readily be 60% off fares offered by regular travel agents or the airlines themselves. I used to think that it would be smart to buy a ticket directly from an airline. I used to think that it would be smart to buy a ticket directly from an airline. They should have the lowest prices right? Wrong. If you compare airfares, you will find that airlines often charge more than even full service, up-town travel agencies! | Consolidator flights are like airfare "wholesalers" for the general public. The flights are on standard airlines and use regularly scheduled routes. Generally, winter airfares are cheaper, and summer fares are higher. You can book short notice or in advance, and there are rarely any minimum stay requirements (as with courier flights). Some full-service travel agencies handle consolidator tickets, but they don't much care to, because there is not as much profit margin for them. |
Q. Drawbacks? A. The tickets are usually non-refundable and frequent flyer mileage is not always available. Because the refund policies are not always air-tight, it's best to pay for a consolidator ticket with a credit card. That way, if you have to rescind the arrangement, you can do a "charge back".
With the "Key to the Airways" directory guide publication, you can by-pass the middle man, and score wholesale-like airline tickets. So, what will you do with all that travel money you'll be saving?
Major American consolidator hubs (in order of quantity): New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, Boston, Phoenix, Chicago, Minneapolis, Honolulu, San Diego, Portland, Denver.
