One day trek in Burma |
This long hike is less touristy than any hike you can take in Thailand - because the hill tribe villagers virtually never see westerners in their villages. We go to remote hills that are officially off limits, but there is no danger of getting in trouble. Ken is the only person who does this trek. |

Meditation Retreat / Explore higher consciousness - with deference to Tantric Mahayana Buddhism and the life of Milarepa - singer of spiritual poems - a living Buddha who lived in Tibet 900 years ago. Bike and hiking trails abound. At the farmstead, we tend to orchards
with the following trees: avocado, macadamia, brazil nut, pink grapefruit,
pomelo and a few other types. Also expanding thornless blackberry patch
and doing organic veges. We do tree grafting and are involved with a small
potting soil business.
How to get to Chiang Rai. You can take a cheap flight from Bangkok or come by bus. Either way, I'll meet you at the airport or the bus station in my pick-up truck. We can then go to the market to shop for whatever food I don't already have stocked at the house - and do whatever needs to be done in town before heading the 12 minutes out to get comfortable at the farmstead.

Special 7-day activities, mentioned below, can happen any time two or more folks express keen interest. Costs are contingent on how many participants.
Hammock making workshop, each participant makes a minimum of one high quality hammock with teak wood end pieces. We have specially made frames and a lively choice of colors. Our instructors used to make hammocks professionally, so they know what it's about. If at least 2 people to sign up, it can happen. Maximum 6 people.
Rock Climbing near Chiang Rai - A full week of mostly bouldering and scrambling in cool places that only Ken knows abfout. Each day we explore a different crag. Bring good shoes and get ready for an enjoyable work-out in some of the most scenic areas you can imagine.
